Dahlquist Studios President Jeffrey Dahlquist has designed and created fine furniture and cabinetry for more than 30 years, always dedicating himself to the same high-quality standard: “respect and reverence for the product and the process.” He requires the same dedication of all Dahlquist Studios cabinetmakers. His work – which ranges from kitchens, baths and offices to unique custom pieces such as wine-tasting bars, fine furniture and media displays – can been seen in homes and businesses throughout Alexandria, Potomac, Bethesda and Washington, D.C.

All woodworking is completed in the studio and transported in pieces for installation. Dahlquist cabinetmakers do their own installations, ensuring respect for your new cabinets, as well as your home or business. Client satisfaction is guaranteed.

Dahlquist Studios’ 9,000 square foot facility uses state-of-the-art machinery and software that streamlines the process of custom cabinetmaking while maintaining the highest standards of design and quality. The result is faster lead times, precise quality control and reliable scheduling.

The creative process is aided by Autocad and KCDw software written to meet the needs of custom cabinetmakers.  Computerized drawings are conveyed through a CNC router to machinery capable of processing a wide range of cabinetry materials with precision. The combination of handcraftsmanship and state-of-the-art machinery produces work of uncompromising quality with exceptional value.

Jeffrey Dahlquist was born and raised in Chicago, IL., city of architecture which had a strong influence on his design philosophy. He studied furniture design at the University of Wisconsin and went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. His education taught him not only traditional old world woodworking techniques, but a dedication and commitment to producing fine furniture and cabinetry, a tradition he as passed on as an adjunct faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University and the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. He founded Dahlquist Studios, Inc. in 1987 and moved to the current Alexandria, Va. location in 1992.
